Access Control for Guests and Staff

This hotel no longer requires badges, magnetic cards, or keys. Room access is easily granted to guests via the administration interface. By entering a guest's mobile phone number or email address, the access request is sent directly from xaxada, granting the guest their booked access.

The complete closure of the main and back doors is additionally monitored by door contacts, which verify that these entrances are properly locked. A tablet has been installed on each floor. This allows guests to open their room door if they have left their smartphone inside. Authorized staff can access their designated areas at predefined times, and these accesses can be logged and exported as a CSV file.

An IP doorbell system has been integrated at the main entrance and the kitchen entrance. This allows the concierge to respond to every ring, speak with the person at the door, and grant access even if no one is present.

Monitoring and Alarm System

The integration of video surveillance into the building automation system allows the concierge to view a real-time video feed on their web interface when the doorbell rings, enabling them to initiate the door opening. With selected cameras, the image is used as a motion detector after a certain time to trigger an email if motion is detected within the configured timeframe.

Lighting Control

The xaxada central unit controls and monitors the lighting throughout the entire hotel. Depending on the lighting application, phase-cut dimmers or simple on/off relays are used. A proprietary control system like DALI was deliberately avoided to ensure that any faulty light fixture can be replaced with a conventional one at any time.

With the use of multiple motion detectors, the lights are only switched on in the necessary areas. The illumination duration can be easily adjusted centrally via the xaxada administration interface. For sensitive outdoor areas, multiple presence detectors can be integrated into a single sequence. This virtually eliminates accidental activation by cats, bats, etc. A timer function for the outdoor lighting, based on the hotel's opening hours, simplifies the daily tasks for staff.
